Comments: These are awesome looking fish.

Origin: The ancestors of this Silver Dollar lived in wide area in the Rainforests of South America, and now they live in aquariums all over the world.

Maximum Size: In aquariums they can grow to be at least 6" long, including their tails. Females tend to grow larger and become plumper, as they fill with eggs.

Behaviors: Silver Dollars are usually not aggressive, but they can eat very small tankmates, like Guppies and Neon Tetras, so be careful when choosing tankmates.

Compatibility: Some recommended tank mates include Angels[1] that are about the same size as the Silver Dollars, Swordtails[2] and Mollies[3].
