Some fish may very well sleep completely on their sides. Ive had several Bloody Parrots over the years to do this. It scared me and I thought the fish was dead but it was just sleeping.

As long as the fish has a healthy appetite, having regular bowel movements, swimming upright, has clear eyes and no visible signs of parasites[3]/disease[4], I wouldnt worry too much at this point.
