Rio Meta basin[1], Colombia.

Habitat

Small tributaries, creeks, areas of flooded forest and sand[2] banks.

Maximum Standard Length

2.4″ (6cm).

A tank[3] measuring 18″ x 12″ x 12″ (45cm x 30cm x 30cm) – 42.5 litres is adequate for a small group of these.
